Purpose of Position:

The Helpdesk Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to retail systems, computer systems, networks, and applications within the enterprise. The Helpdesk Associate responds to queries, diagnoses and isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution to computer users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions, escalating calls as required.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the company’s computer systems and applications.
  • Maintains the IT Help Desk ticketing system that records and tracks problems and requests.
  • Clearly communicates technical solutions to internal customers in a user-friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist stores with opening procedures.
  • Update the knowledge base as needed.
  • Follow up with end-users to ensure that issues have been resolved.
  • Must be availalbe to work a rotating weekend schedule.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive, self-disciplined, and passionate to improve technical skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task in stressful situations and keep a professional attitude.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of Windows 7, 8, 10, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess an understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts.
  • Must be able to work in a varied, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 15 – 20 lbs.
  • 1+ year(s) of IT troubleshooting experience.

Education/Experience:

  • A Helpdesk Technician should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A+ Certification preferred.
