Our facility in Stennis, MS has an immediate opportunity for an early to mid-career level Project Engineer to join our mission. If you are an ambitious self-starter and an effective project team leader, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our organization within our Commercial Civil Space Line of Business. In this role, you will be responsible for cost, schedule, and technical execution for a suite of products throughout production and test. In this role, you will act as the primary interface between Space Operations and various Programs within the Commercial Civil Space Line of Business ensuring clear two-way communication in support of our customer’s needs. The position requires presentations to various levels of both Operations and Program Leadership including Directors, Vice Presidents, Program Management, and external Lockheed Martin Customers.

Summary of Key Duties: In this role, you will…

  • Develop and coordinate Operations basis of estimates for new programs

  • Understand budget allocation and drive cost performance across operations

  • Drives planning and schedule execution across Operations

  • Demonstrate technical understanding of product suite and drive design improvement initiatives

  • Interface between Operations and Programs to ensure a timely & accurate flow of information and requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience/combined education (~12-13 years of relevant experience with no degree; ~8-9 years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree)

  • 1-3 years of previous Production, Operations, Project Engineering, CAM, Proposal and/or IPT lead experience

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management concepts

  • Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Due to work location requirements, U.S. citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • Experience with Program/Customer interface

  • Fluent use of SAP, VE CAMS, MS Project, MS Excel
  • Proposal and Estimating Experience

  • Project Management and Leadership experience

  • Cost Account and Earned Value Management

  • Effective communicator with Executive level management

  • Aerospace Operations or Engineering experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
