Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer Architect to support the SNAP Department (Strategic Networks, Applications, and Products). Our team focuses on Network Solutions, and supports a variety of technologies across our three departments; C3 Solutions, Strategic Networks, and Small Form Factors. C3 Solutions, specializes in Tactical Data Link processors, emulators, and simulators. Our Strategic Networks team builds solutions to defending our country's nuclear assets. And lastly, our Small Form Factors Department brings SWaP optimized solutions (Crypto, SDRs, Space Networks) to new domains, bridging us into Space, Weapons, and more. This position will be located in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA, at one of our two locations; Rancho Carmel, or Kearny Mesa.

This position will require onsite work however for this role we are able to offer flexible work arrangements and some remote work will be possible.
We are looking for you to join our team as Staff Systems Architect based out of San Diego, Ca.
Essential Functions:
Lead in the facilitation of technical meetings to establish future state process architecture and details
Architect and map/draw process diagrams, using business modeling tools, while discussing with subject matter experts
Conduct business process analysis in order to identify areas of improvement
Analyze existing process documentation to parse out content according to process model needs and SSSD document hierarchy
Develop hierarchical and sequential process modeling concepts/techniques
Lead department training and knowledge sharing
Effective communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 14 years of industry experience; OR Masters Degree in STEM with 12 years of industry experience.
Experience with Network and Systems Architecture and developing communications and RF equipment
Experience in product design and knowledge of design lifecycle
Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with emerging technologies
Model Based System Engineering experience, especially using Cameo or DOORs
High proficiency with tools required for communication system and network modeling and simulation
Background in digital communications theory and commercial and military wireless networking technologies
Development of communication waveform processing techniques and architectures in support of Northrop Grumman’s advanced software defined multifunction mission systems
Demonstrated depth and breadth in the physical through application layers and how the aggregation of these partitioned capabilities accomplish required missions
Demonstrated skills in bridging the gap between theoretical and practical and in performing associated trade off analysis
Ability and willingness to travel
Previously held a DoD Special Program Access (SAP) clearance
