Lockheed Martin is seeking a broadly skilled Electromechanical Packaging Engineer to handle all aspects of electromechanical packaging design activities for a missile development program. Selected candidate will oversee partner air vehicle design efforts and development of key component packaging alternatives and trades. Primary job responsibilities include oversight of avionic packaging design, integration, and test activities. Candidate will coordinate packaging design, trade studies, design assurance activities, and programmatic reviews with functional management, program leadership, and customers. Tasks and responsibilities may include supporting integration activities into lab environment for subsystem and system integration activities and nonconformance dispositions. Candidate will be expected to interface effectively with multiple functional groups including liaison, checking, electrical, mechanical, RF, configuration management, subcontracts, planning, and quality personnel during design, engineering documentation release, assembly, inspection, and test processes. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of CATIA/3DExperience, have excellent verbal, presentation, GD&T, and written skills. Candidate should be able to work with a diverse team of internal organizations, managing supplier input, and developing internal documentation to meet contractual TDP delivery expectations.

This position is located in Orlando, FL and requires 25% domestic travel to suppliers/partners. The position will be primarily onsite due to security aspects of the program/IRAD.

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 4 year degree in engineering, physics, or manufacturing from an ABET accredit university
  • 5 year minimum modeling with CATIA and/or 3DExperience CAD modeling software, including cabling
  • Mechanical engineering design experience on weapon development program(s), including interconnections, power, and signals, and RF
  • Ability to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership and externally to customers and suppliers.
  • Current Secret clearance with last background check within 5 years
Desired Skills:
  • Relevant senior mechanical design experience on air-launched and/or surface launched weapons development
  • Experience with detailed design trade study analysis and evaluation
  • 3DExpereince with CAMEO integration
  • Experience with electromechanical packaging design using Agile methods and MFC DX processes
  • Ability to attain a special access program clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
