Responsibilities:
  • You will work on challenging assignments that include designing of HVAC systems, investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of HVAC engineering issues
  • You will meet with others to develop integrated HVAC systems including the following layouts, both safety and non-safety related:
    • Fire protection
    • Plumbing
    • Plant Ventilation Systems
    • Control room HVAC
    • Laboratory HVAC
  • Provide support in the planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating of the detailed design phases of all aspects of facility engineering work
  • Perform calculations and develop detailed designs for the planned work
  • Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment
  • Prepare engineering studies
  • You will provide support to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to assure a complete and timely design
  • You will assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and may present findings and recommendations to clients and peers
  • Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing of knowledge with other engineers by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice."
Qualifications:
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Essential skills and experience:
  • BSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is required; MSME preferred
  • Familiarity with HVAC system design and related terms
Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Experience or familiarity in the design of HVAC systems
  • Technical familiarity with pre-engineered systems to execute systems design
  • Able to create design schematics using computer design software
  • Familiarity with office and engineering software including AutoCAD and load calculation programs such as HAP and TRACE
