Job Description
Provides technical/engineering support for Chevron Marine's vessels to ensure their safety, reliability, operability and efficiency. Manages marine vessel design and construction projects. Oversees major turn-around and overhaul projects. Assesses and reports on a vessel’s overall condition, shipboard systems performance, operational readiness, and functional integrity. Approves changes to marine engineering systems and operational practices and coordinates vessels maintenance.

Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.

Below are the key roles and responsibilities of this job:

  • Provide Marine Technical SME services to a variety of customers and partners for energy transition projects and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across Chevron Shipping, other Chevron entities in support of evaluating projects with shipping content that would require the construction of ships or chartering of ships with non-standard technologies to meet energy transition goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry players such as shipyards, other owners, key OEM’s and technology companies.
  • Prepare Technical Reports and Presentations
  • Support development of modeling for shipping requirements.
  • Support development for POV’s for emerging technologies specific to Marine Solutions
  • Monitor and report on regulatory developments to meet IMO 2050 goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education BS Degree in Engineering- Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Environmental Engineering
  • Quantified experience -Min 7 years applicable Industry Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oil/Gas Industry Experience
  • Cryogenic Liquids Experience (operations and/or other)
  • Strong Written, Verbal and Presentation skills
  • Experience with lower carbon shipping solutions
  • Experience with marine technology providers
  • Shipbuilding specification development/contracting

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $128,400 – $221,900.
