Title:
GEOINT Flight Engineer - TS/SCIKBR is seeking a GEOINT Flight Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. KBR’s National Security Solutions (NSS) division provides high-end engineering, intelligence, cyber security, missile defense, and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities, helping them solve their most difficult challenges. GEOINT Flight Engineer
Position Summary:
The GEOINT Flight Engineer plays a key role in helping the government integrate satellites into its operational baseline. This professional will be involved throughout the development lifecycle by analyzing and developing concepts of operations, requirements, participating in design reviews, analyzing test results during verification and validation, coordinating with satellite operators to ensure validity of operational processes and procedures, through vehicle launch and initialization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
While your duties may fluctuate, you will primarily be responsible for:
Overseeing satellite integration readiness, working with other contractors and government personnel (often across multiple sites and organizational levels) and providing unbiased analysis with recommendations on courses of actions or approaches to exploit an opportunity
Assessing integration activities in the context of cross-systems dependencies (technical, resource, and schedule) and presenting unbiased findings, analysis, and recommendations to the government managers
Participating in project or system reviews, milestones, and/or decision gates and represent the government’s interests with other stakeholders
Supporting government requests for systems engineering and integration studies; processing analysis and design; project management process assessments, etc. with a focus on process and resource efficiencies
Supporting the development or assessment of system Concept of Operations, Requirements Documents, Test Plans, Contract Statements of Work, Systems Engineering Plans, as well as contribute to the “staff work” requirements for the government (e.g. action items, weekly reports, etc.) to include support to government acquisitions and source selections
Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
TS/SCI with polygraph
Bachelor's STEM Degree in related field
3 years or more experience
Technical knowledge of spacecraft systems (bus, payload) and subsystems (attitude and control systems, propulsion, life support systems, etc.), ground communications and mission data processing systems, space vehicle mission planning and command and control systems
Knowledge of orbital mechanics
Space operations/policy
Spacecraft and launch vehicle engineering
Space-borne reconnaissance & surveillance
Familiarity with GEOINT systems
Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator or spacecraft engineer
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
40 Hours
Basic Compensation:
$108,500 - $162,700 annually
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
