Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina, Cope Station located in Cope, SC has a Material Fuel Handling Technician opening. Cope Station is a coal fire & natural gas facility.

This is an entry level position responsible for loading and unloading of fuel (coal), miscellaneous utility work at the station, maintenance and grading of the fuel (coal) pile. Performs heavy lifting and outside work in inclement weather and in a noisy, dusty environment.

Performs other duties as requested or assigned.


The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Operating heavy equipment such as dozers and loaders and the ability to efficiently and effectively grade piles of materials (i.e. dirt, coal) preferred.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting and outside work in inclement weather in a noisy, dusty environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good physical condition to perform work duties safely.
  • Must be mechanically oriented.
  • Requires ability to work shift rotation and working weekends and holidays.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

  • Applicants that will graduate by June, 2023 will be considered.

Must have a valid driver's license with safe driving history.
