ThyssenKrupp System Engineering is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan .

Your responsibilities

•The Senior Mechanical Engineer performs and coordinates design activities in the early phase of a project, simultaneous engineering and project follow up, including concept development, feasibility studies, reference research and product layout design.•As member of Project Core Team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be the customer point of contact for all mechanical designs, studies, issues, etc.•The Senior Mechanical Engineer develops mechanical related primary specifications for projects, also assists and shares ownership of project station specs.•The Senior Mechanical Engineer works with project core team to develop and share ownership of project timing, as well as ensuring concerto tasks are up to date.•Develops design concepts and completes designs for stations with a high degree of complexity.•Development of standard assembly units of an assembly line in the early phase of a project in compliance with project specifications, company standards, customer requirements and engineering principles.•Line-up and lead designers and detailers (internal and/or external) to successfully execute designs.

Your profile

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a related field from a 4-year college or university with at least 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Other Skills and Abilities•Design capability using AutoCAD 2D and 3D packages - Inventor and/or Solidworks required•Assembly machine design experience.•Capable of executing detailer role.•Working knowledge of GD&T.•Ability to understand specifications, including company, customer, government and safety.•Ability to utilize personal computer equipped with electronic database, spreadsheet, word processor and AutoCAD software with high proficiency.•Ability to understand customer and applicable international standard requirements.
