Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience working in consumer product design, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree
- 2 years of experience bringing consumer electronics products to mass production
- Experience with Siemens NX/Teamcenter
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1 year of experience in technical leadership providing mentorship to junior members of the product design team
- Experience designing plastic parts, metal components, and FPC/PCBs for mass production
- Experience integrating camera and display modules into products
- Experience running thermal and structural simulations using ANSYS
- Ability to deliver high-quality work independently, highlighting key risks and design dependencies to cross-functional technical teams

In this role, you’ll span a broad range of activities and find yourself not only participating in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts but also working in a manufacturing and product-oriented development environment, while collaborating with vendors and outside sources to see parts through to mass production.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive designs from concept to mass production, focusing on balancing function, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cosmetic requirements.
- Create and publish detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings for your designs including GD&T, materials’ selection, and manufacturing methods.
- Work with global manufacturing suppliers to drive the design forward.
- Travel to meet with suppliers and support manufacturing bring up during the different stages of product development.
- Build and troubleshoot prototypes, analyze results of reliability testing, iteratively improve the design, and bring to mass production.
