Entry Level Avionics Test and Integration Engineer - Human Landing System (HLS)
Job Description
In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract in the near future, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking an Junior level Avionics Test and Integration Engineer to propmote HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.
The Avionics Test and Integration Engineer will promote the Dynetics Space Systems Division in the development of a human lander system and promote equipment, primarily responsible for system design, integration, and qualification of Avionics System and Subsystem hardware integration activity in the Avionics System Integration Lab, into a seamless operational system. This position also requires the ability to translate high-level product development strategies into system specifications and to work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed specifications. Candidates will work in a team environment to promote design through product implementation and should be able to direct engineering design disposition on all documentation discrepancies
Candidate might be tasked to travel as necessary (10-20%)
Basic Qualifications
- Candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Candidates with master’s and PhD degrees are encouraged to apply, with degree level substitution for direct industry work experience.
- Candidates will have 0 – 2 years of work history with roles.
- Candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Candidates will have demonstrated history effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidates will be residents of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Other Qualifications
Preferred candidates may have work history and/or working knowledge of the following:
- Understanding standards for packet data formats, coding and synchronization, and modulation.
- Understanding databus standards, such as MIL-STD-1553, EIA-TIA-422, IEEE802.3..etc
- Knowledge in any of the following languages: Python, C#, C++, Javascript, Visual Basic, MATLAB, and Labview
- Knowledge in commercial electrical test equipment, such as NetAcquire, and/or NI PXI System
- NASA or other aerospace development spaceflight projects
- Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams
Security Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
