Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The purpose of the job is to design, develop, test, and maintain a scalable infrastructure for the project “Pilot Study: Developing a Personal-Ownership-based Open-Source Data Platform for Indoor Air Quality in Baltimore-DC".
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
The position does not entail any direct supervisory responsibilities. The position may work with and mentor undergraduate students on tasks related to the project.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include executives, administrators, faculty, staff, students, technical support and information technology personnel throughout the University.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design a scalable infrastructure to support project goals and timelines.
- Develop and maintain a cloud environment using SOLID protocol to maintain privacy and personal ownership of data.
- Prepare loadtest and failure notifications to evaluate the cost and efficiency of the backend system.
- Work in a cross-functional team of researchers and industry.
- Participate in mandatory training requirements for the position.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Cloud Engineering- Cron Jobs, Data Pipelining, Data Storage
- Software Engineering
- Strong Background working with and across multiple web technologies, protocol, and language sets.
- IoT device development
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
MS in Computer Science.10 years+ experience in technology, development, and engineering related position. Experience with SOLID Protocol. Experience and with Inrupt Software Development Kit. Experience with ATMO Cube sensors and related technology.
