A Snapshot of Your Day

This is a lead generator service engineering position that involves the electrical analysis/design of generators for purposes of executing generator negotiation and modernization orders, uprate studies, supporting field service activities, and resolving product issues for operating generators and exciters with a strong emphasis on data analytics.

You will support the Service Modernizations Americas team, as well as the broader Generator Service Engineering organization, in tasks consisting mainly of order execution, negotiations, and service R&D.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Perform electrical evaluations for Generator Stator components to verify adequate performance during operation and fault conditions
• Support the design, electrical and thermal analysis and product definition for generator components as part of modernization projects
• Contribute to team efforts to provide accurate and timely support for tendering activities for Generator Service
• Design and development of new products and services and technical support of market introduction activities
• Development and maintenance of quality initiatives in support of department targets and scope

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Emphasis on power systems and/or electric machines preferred.
• Strong emphasis and interest in performing detailed electrical and thermal engineering calculations for the design and evaluation of rotor and stator windings, as well as other generator components.
• Excellent skills in programming (i.e. matlab, python) and data analytics to conceptualize and implement computer tools and algorithms for visualization and decision making
• Some professional experienced or advanced degree is preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
