Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Interprets written business requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop advanced technical solutions that meet business needs in financial industry.
Collaborates with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions.
Performs complex coding to written technical specifications.
Tests the resulting coding components in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans.
Investigates, analyzes and documents reported defects – raising issues as appropriate.
Analyzes run time profiles to debug errors that may exist.
Solves complex defects that arise through own work or the work of others
Performs maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.

TIAA is seeking a Sr. Front End Developer to join our team. As a member of the Front-End Development team at TIAA, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Learn the existing application as it stands today and assume ownership of the application.
- Create new and maintain existing websites and applications.
- Lead conversations regarding in-depth task requirements with the product owner(s) and database experts and work closely with them to develop user-friendly, visually appealing UX design on new features.
- Provide honest feedback to product owner(s) about time required to complete tasks and manage to deadlines by operating with efficiency and urgency.
- Write quality, non-breaking consistent code that meets and exceeds industry standards.
- Manage code through a GitHub repository.
- Conduct usability testing, peer review of code, and resolution of problems before deployment of code to production.
- Manage tasks through Kanban/scrum tools (Jira Confluence)
- Frequently communicate project updates to internal stakeholders
- Provide mentoring and coaching to junior level developers.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 4+ years experience in a software development position
- 4+ years of JavaScript development experience
- 3+ years of Angular development experience
- Knowledge of web standards and usability
- Ability to develop interactive solutions that flow from a strategic foundation
- Development experience and/or general knowledge in JavaScript, Typescript, Postman, and familiarity with C#, SQL Server
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
- Well versed in CSS, HTML and Sass
- Experience with Kanban/scrum tools (Jira and Confluence)
- Financial Services experience preferred
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
