Teledyne Scientific Company has an immediate opening at its Thousand Oaks, California facility for a Power Electronics Engineer position.
Job Summary:
Plans and executes research activities in power electronics development, integration, prototyping and testing of high-performance dc-dc converters

Detailed Description:

Plans and executes research activities in power electronics development, integration, prototyping and testing of high-performance dc-dc converters.

Be knowledgeable with power electronic circuits, gate drivers and control, wide bandgap power devices, and high frequency passive components.

Have a sound understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of power electronic design and diagnosis of problems and their resolutions during prototype development and tests.

Assist in the design of robust, high frequency power converters assembled using chip-scale packaging.

Effectively communicate results using written technical reports and verbal presentations. Frequent and effective communication among a diverse group of scientists and engineers is a must.

Ability to work across a diverse team composed of wide bandgap device design engineers, power device processing engineers, passive component designers and process developers, and layout/packaging engineers.

Ability to meet deadlines and rapid resolution of problems in fast-paced R&D projects.
Requirements:

Proficient in circuit layout, assembly, prototyping, and testing

Proficient with test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, high voltage/high current and fast transient probes, impedance and network analyzers.

Assist with the design of power electronic components by interacting within the team and providing critical design insights.

Prior experience in high frequency power electronics, integration, prototyping, and testing.
Required minimum education and experience:
-
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with focus on power electronics.

Knowledge of basic principles of power electronic design and integration.

Previous experience in prototyping of power electronic circuits, testing and diagnosis/resolution of issues.

Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communications, and ability to work within a diverse group of engineers.
