General information: The Front End Engineer will be required to work closely with the UX team and help integrate/transition the existing library components into the Hitachi Vantara UI Kit as well as implementing new feature/functionality as requested. Responsibilities: Ensuring that the functionality of the components is similar after migration/integration with the UI Kit Ensuring that the components follow the UX mockups Implementing new design and functionality on the components as requested by UX team, Product Management, Product Owner Responsible of updating existing applications to use the new Design System (DS) and ensure functionality parity Responsible for the testing of the components' functionality, reusability Be accountable for code quality produced by conducting reviews and testing. Providing detailed documentation, support and mentorship to other developers who adopts DS or builds components. Being an advocate of DS and constantly educating others on the value of DS and its adaptation. Your background: Have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, or other equivalent discipline in Canadian Institute. Legally eligible to work full-time in Canada. Have experience on how to manage projects Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong team player that can build relationships Ability to communicate in English 3+ years of front-end development experience Experience with Javascript (React) Expertise in CSS, JSS, and HTML Experience with unit testing Experience using libraries such as Material-UI, Bootstrap, Materialize Knowledge of frontend design patterns Problem solving skills
