The Professional-System Engineer position within Asset Protection is directly responsible for supporting all aspects of the AT&T global case management system of investigations (an HCL platform) and other security/investigative focused technical solutions. Through collaboration this hands-on intermediate level role uses testing techniques, implements designs, participates in planning, high level designs, implement user requirements, analyze test plans and strategies, identifies opportunities for automations, directly codes solutions, execute test cases, and troubleshoot defects for applications. Determine integrated testing solutions that include cross dependencies between organizations and programs, develop data and environment strategies utilizing architectural skills and methodology to meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, explores new and alternative technology platforms and security needs. This is a technical position, working in partnership in the department, provides solutions for one or more system/software engineering disciplines while working closely with leadership to adopt the right technologies and platforms to meet the overall technology vision, roadmap, and strategy to protect the organization.

The Professional-System Engineer requires an intermediate level of experience whose qualifications would include 3-5 years’ programming experience with a strong functional knowledge and programming/scripting ability with C or C++, Perl, JavaScript, Lotus Script and Korn Shell. 2+ years’ experience with HCL architecture and Linux environments to include but not limited to: HCL IBM Notes, HCL IBM Notes Designer, HCL IBM Domino, HCL IBM Domino Server Administration, Linux Utilities (e.g., cut, sort, grep, uniq, SSH, SFTP, etc), XPages

Additional technical experience with automation, data import/export processing, data encryption solutions, SAN based file system use, B2B VPN (IPsec) connections\Secure File Gateway Connections, SMTP protocols and headers and Symbolic linked files highly desired.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, with technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Contribution: Intermediate level technical professional. Subject matter technical knowledge within a discipline and sound understanding of AT&T technologies.

Education: Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent hands-on experience.
