Job Details

Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilitating the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes in the Hattiesburg facility. To develop solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and to teach others the proper use of this equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs tools and/or machines of varying types for use in the manufacture of company products.
  • Redesigns, repairs, or replaces in-process production program equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
  • Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
  • Sets up, operation, and training on new equipment for employees.
  • Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
  • Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential applications.
  • Serves as an alternate member of the Quality/MRB team attending meetings and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Writes justifications for capital equipment expenditures as associated with Hattiesburg based manufacturing improvements.
  • Plans and sets up for process introduction of new products into the plant.
  • Knowledge of NCP programs and associated processes.
  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
  • Develops and performs time studies on manufacturing processes.
  • Develops labor standards for new and existing products and processes.

QUALIFICATION

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

This position requires a B.S.M.E. or B.S.I.E. degree with a concentration of coursework in Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering, or at least three (3) years experience as a Manufacturing engineer, with tool and/or machine design experience.

Experience in capital appropriation evaluation and analysis required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Visio, Autocad and Inventor, as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
