In the HPE Chief Technology Office, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Working with customers, we help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results.

What you'll do:

The Common Cloud Platform Team designs, builds and manages the infrastructure and technology powering our Common Cloud Platform.

We are looking for a Cloud Software Development Manager to join our Common Cloud Platform leadership team. You will lead a team responsible for developing, building and operating our cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on automation and tool development. The team is developing the platform and numerous applications that run on it to deliver cutting-edge campus and branch networking from the cloud. This position provides the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to deliver resilient platform(Paas) at scale in cloud/on-prem to meet the needs of different business needs. This is a high impact team in a fast-paced organization that is experiencing massive client growth and runs on the most cutting-edge AWS/GCP/Azure cloud based infrastructure. You should be able to balance competing priorities with attention to detail, should be a creative problem solver, should be naturally curious and driven to excellence; should be eager to learn about the rapidly evolving open

source tools and platforms and use them as appropriate.

Our development and design approach assumes infrastructure as code. We are looking for motivated high performers who can leverage brilliant ideas into infrastructure automation and tooling while troubleshooting and resolving any issues when automation doesn't work like it should.

Day to Day:

  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing new products, enhancements and updates.
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicate project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Manage relationships with partners, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with all stakeholders
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
  • Provide people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

  • Backend: Python/Golang
  • Frontend: React.JS
  • Data Sources : Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Postgres, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Hazelcast, Nats
  • Infrastructure: Docker and Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP and bare-metal
  • Tools: Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Jenkins, Concourse, Spinnaker, Teleport, Slack
  • Monitoring and logs: New Relic, FluentD, Humio, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, PagerDuty, Slack

What you need to bring:

  • Relevant industry experience of 6 years or more, with 2 years or more as a manager.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Ability to lead and grow an effective Cloud Infrastructure team and serve as a front face for all Cloud Infrastructure and Platform related discussions with different business units.
  • Ability to define strategy, vision, and roadmap to build and operate self-service Platform (PaaS) at scale.
  • Ability to Prioratise/Plan and Drive projects from different business units and ensure closure within accepted timelines.
  • Your vision is clear and far-seeing
  • You know how to reconcile seemingly contradictory requirements
  • You know how to communicate in a way that everyone understands
  • You create an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation

Responsibilities.

  • Solid grasp of computer science concepts including data structures, object-oriented design, distributed computing and cloud computing paradigms.
  • Well versed with developing automation and delivering resilient Platform (PaaS) at scale in cloud/on-prem keeping the logging/alerting/monitoring/backup/security aspects in mind.
  • Experience with driving the upgrade release cycle for the infrastructure components like Database upgrades/Kubernetes upgrades in collaboration with the application stake holders.
  • Knowledge of some or all of the following technologies: Golang, Redis, Kafka, Postgres, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Prometheus
  • Solid hands-on experience handling Linux Systems at a very large scale.
  • Hands-on experience on Containers & Container Orchestration Tools.
  • Solid understanding of distributed database concepts.
  • Experience with driving cost optimization across Cloud environment.
  • Ability to mentor and technically lead small teams to achieve big thing
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communications, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Have Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Annual Salary: $140,300.00 - $322,600.00
