Responsibilities
The Senior Software Engineer on the Analytics Data Management (ADM) team will need to develop a solid understanding of business operations and create relationships with primary points of contact. The needs of our business segment change frequently, so the ideal candidate will leverage subject matter experts and other resources, independently coordinate across technical and business teams, and look forward to resolving ambiguity to solve business problems. This role requires taking the initiative to dive deep into data to answer questions and independently determine when results are ready to present to customers. A successful candidate will be able to clearly explain the details of the work.
We are seeking a talented senior software engineer to join our development team. The candidate should be able to perform the following:
Design normalized relational databases optimal for application development and data reporting purposes
Write and maintain code for automation
Refactor existing code for modularity in accordance with best practices
Drive regular pair programming sessions and code reviews of complex work
Thoroughly test and clearly document code
Support other developers on the team through mentorship and provide recommendations for code optimization
Note: Our primary technology stack is python and MS SQL, however, we can teach a candidate with equivalent experience in other technologies.
Skills and Qualifications
Expert level software engineering background or similar discipline
Intellectually curious and eager to learn
Procedural language for automation – python preferred
SQL database design and optimization, ETL support
Ability to develop modular, reusable code and tools
Excel, Word, PowerPoint for presenting data and solutions
Role Desirables
Open-source contributions
Experience in health care, insurance, or risk-adjustment
