As a Front-End Developer with Octo, you will join an Agile team responsible for leading modernizing, iteratively developing on, and maintaining operations for a suite of highly visible applications for an innovative federal government agency. You are a software engineer that is comfortable developing in a highly collaborative agile development environment working side by side with other engineers, product managers, designers, and clients as you evaluate and define requirements and contribute to technical research/analysis and development of user stories to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. You have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify issues or improvement areas. Program Mission…

This program will support the agency’s Information Technology mission to provide development and operational support of mission-enabling applications. The team will work to enhance and modernize current applications leveraging a continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline to enable an agile DevOps Strategy.

• At least 4 years of experience developing with Angular 9+

• Experience with Typescript, RXJS, JavaScript, Node, NPM, HTML CSS, SCSS, responsive design, and mobile first development

• Strong UI/UX skills and experience creating UI components, forms, directives and services

• Familiarity with integrating JSON and REST APIs

• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements

• Writing Unit tests in Jasmine framework

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Bootstrap, Angular Material or USWDS

• Ability to successfully manage and maintain your local development environment.

• Experienced with Git and Github, along with best practices around branching strategies

• Familiarity with Webpack

• Experience working in an Agile environment

• Working knowledge of management/tracking utilities such as JIRA/Confluence

Desired Skills…

• Familiarity with Security Threat Prevention

• Working experience with technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory, and others

• Experience with Drupal 8+, Java, PHP, and AWS services.
