What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin Space has an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to work with the ORION program! Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building NASA's Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, the only spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth. Exciting stuff, yes? Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
- Work under supervision perform & support design coordination, development, incremental system test, and customer acceptance test for electronic & electrical Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) used for Lockheed Martin Space missions.
- Support unique/custom designed circuitry, subassemblies & assemblies, as well as engineering design disclosure documentation required to produce them.
- Assisting in requirements generation

- Working with other teams and groups across the program
- Creation(design)/update of rack level Engineering Drawings to include Computing, Networking, NAS, and timing components
- Creation(design)/update of interconnection Engineering Drawings
- Support the build and testing of rack level systems
- Support the installation of the networking hardware and interconnection cabling
- Preform network administration responsibilities including configuration, archiving, OS updates of Cisco devices, NTP Appliances, and SAN Fiber channel switches
- Knowledge cable interfaces between flight and ground equipment
- Experience or coursework in electronics design and/or test of electrical hardware.
- 5 - 9 years of professional experience for this role.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Understanding of electronic & electrical components and systems.
- Understanding of electronics & electrical circuits.
- Familiar in using the electrical test equipment.
- Experience with rack level and interconnection engineering drawings process.
- Experience in AC power load design in a computing processing rack.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at different stages of completion
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Self-starter, quick learner.
- Experience with networking like TCP/IP along with LAN, WAN, NTP, VoIP, and SAN/NAS network preferred, or willing to learn.
- Understanding of OSI model layer 1-4.
- Understanding of basic design of computer systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
