Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician. This is an hourly position that is part of the Engineered Wood Products and reports to the Technical Director at Evergreen manufacturing facility, located in Castleberry AL.

The Quality Assurance Technician is accountable for the continuous monitoring of the quality of products and the optimization of the product and process in response to current operating conditions. The QA Tech analyzes and interprets data, evaluates performance and reliability of processes/products, and provides immediate feedback and recommendations on problems and opportunities. This individual should be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision while establishing effective relationships with production and maintenance teams. The QA Tech serves as the leader for his/her production team when the shift supervisor is unavailable.

• Commitment to actively promoting and exhibiting a caring safety culture
• High School Diploma/G.E.D
• Minimum of 1 year work experience
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• High degree of integrity and strong work ethic
• Supportive of quality, environmental and safety management systems and policies
• Able to independently analyze data and recommend alternative courses of action
• Able to organize and plan priorities
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
• Ability to make decisions and weigh outcomes
• Ability to train, educate, and coach operations team members regarding quality issues
• Able to take direction and willing to take on new tasks/projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer software and mathematical skills

The following qualifications are preferred:

• BS degree in Wood Science
• Wood Technology (or) Engineering
• Wood Products Manufacturing experience
