Company Overview:
Responsible for the smooth running of the end user experience, day to day admin and access controls, deskside support as well as remote support for those in the field and the PC hardware. Support of the current application catalogue and roll out of updates. Working in line with Wood global policy for security and technology vision. Working with the 3rd line server and network administrators to maintain office network and document storage solutions. Confirmation that backups have completed and restore lost data as required.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Support of the day-to-day end user IT services, PCs, Tablets including setting up new and replacement units
- Support the application portfolio and fault finding where required
- Give technical guidance in relation to set-up requirements, configuration, and customization of the technical application(s).
- Learn and adopt new technologies as required, be the point of contact for IT issues
- Escalates to and works with vendor technical resources for problems that cannot be resolved in- house.
- Work within the Wood IT policies and new technologies aligning the business with the global solutions
- Work with Wood IT support function where additional support for services are required
- Work with the Wood IT Business Partner function to understand the global business direction and how it reflects upon the business and deploy new technologies as required
- Ability to learn within the role and adapt as business changes. Attending training offsite as well as online as well as self-based learning to improve skillset.
- Check and review application documentation including procedures, process flows and instructions to support technical queries and workflow changes.
- Provide training, coaching and guidance to less experienced technical applications support staff.
- Continually Identify, pursue, and implement improvements to the way the application(s) is configured and used.
- Acts as a specialist subject matter expert for a technical application.
- Supports data requirements in a datacentric environment.
- Defines and configures workshare environments.
Database applications
Responsible for the integrity and health of project databases including inconsistency management and running maintenance utilities.
Information Management Applications
Establish, develop, and deploy new project portals which effectively reflect client/project class libraries, data structure and handover requirements.- Develop efficient data capture, validation, loading and handover work processes to meet client/project schedule requirements.
- Generate query forms and reports to communicate data discrepancies, omissions, completion trending and status
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in subject relevant to the application(s)
- Certified training or equivalent experience in one or more technical applications.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Several years’ experience working in a project execution environment.
- Able to assess client and contractual requirements and translate these into a project-ready environment.
- Fully conversant with all aspects of application configuration and ongoing project support.
- Highly skilled in methods for integrating system components, performance tuning tools and techniques, systems diagnostics tools and fault identification techniques.
- Highly Skilled in methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving IT systems, able to deal with the most complex of issues.
- Knowledge of the Heavy Civils and Vista Finance applications would be advantageous
