JOB SUMMARY: Jr. Project managers are responsible for assisting in the planning and overseeing of HVAC projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Jr. Project Managers learn how to plan and designate HVAC project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way, while working under the direction of Project Managers.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares and submits job schedule to Sr. Project Manager for approval.
- Prepares job estimates and seeks approval as needed.
- Exercises authority over the planning, direction and control of a designated project.
- Allocates and supervises the utilization of material and personnel resources assigned to the project.
- Applies intensified management techniques, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with contract and budget.
- Makes technical, personnel and business management decisions required by the project as authorized.
- Conducts close liaison and coordination with vendors, the General Contractor and other sub-contractors.
- Reports status of projects to Sr. Project Manager on a regular basis.
- Maintain safe work environment on all projects.
- Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives, and business plans.
- Initiate monthly billing for jobs in process.
- Initiate schedule of values for job in conjunction with estimator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related supporting utilities.
- Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Effective negotiator.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Products such as Excel, Word, etc.
