Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer R&D in Solon, Ohio

Duties: Provide professional engineering expertise and technical leadership in the NDC Solon Technical Competence Unit, to ensure that all engineering activities enhance the Frozen/Chilled Food business objectives, product quality, factory operation and performance. Development and improvement of Equipment and Operations Standard. Innovation and/or improvement R&D projects. Technical assistance to the markets. Support investment projects in the markets, to achieve the project-defined capability and assure that the invested resources bring the return of investment expected, with a flawless execution. Together with key equipment suppliers and internal customers, set strategy, coordinate and interact to identify the right machines and/or lines for the right applications. Design & develop end-to-end processes and equipment concepts for frozen and chilled food products and packaging with strong focus on optimal Total Delivered Cost and CAPEX efficiency, balancing considerations for performance, safety, quality and environmental aspects. Lead and coordinate the successful delivery of Technical Assistance to factories and markets ensuring all jobs are completed ‘To standard and on Time’. Collect and share best practice guidance & solutions to factories. Perform NDC Solon Technical Competence Unit competency development in the field of engineering via training, mentoring and/or coaching.

Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Automation Engineering or closely related field plus 10 years of experience in the job offered or in factory engineering, maintenance management, and CAPEX project execution.

The required experience must include each of the following:

  • 7 years of experience in factory engineering and maintenance in a food producing environment;
  • 7 years of experience in Total Productive Maintenance, and Lean and supplier management;
  • 5 years of experience in Plant Based and Meat Analogues related Engineering;
  • 3 years of experience in installing, commissioning and start-up of food processing equipment in Chilled and Frozen; and
  • 1 year of experience in Food Extrusion specialized to Plant Protein.

Domestic and international travel required up to 20% of time. Up to 50% telework permitted.
