Job Overview
The Associate Industrial Engineer would be responsible for collecting, editing, processing, and coordinating research data in support of industrial engineer projects. They will record research data in accordance with specified protocol and procedures. If you enjoy assisting with the design, analysis, and optimization of business systems to drive change and improved business results, then this position is for you!
What you will be doing:
Applies knowledge of Industrial Engineering, continuous improvement/quality assurance, and various analytical techniques (e.g., statistics, root cause analysis) to assist in solving complex business problems.
Designs data collection spreadsheets and tools depending on developed methodologies.
Collects and records data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study.
Verifies data in accordance with specified research protocol and enters data into a computer database and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.
Reviews and edits data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
Applies computer skills at a broad level, including spreadsheets, databases, graphical presentation applications and can oversee development of models using advanced analytical tools (e.g., SAS, @Risk, Solver, Arena, Distribution fitting, VBA, Linear Programming, etc.).
Support the development of presentations that provides concise and actionable insights.
Assists with recruiting, onboarding, and supervision of part-time Field Researchers
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
What you need:
Bachelors in industrial engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
What we desire:
Intermediate to advanced skill in use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and other computer applications (including but not limited to shortcuts, macros, visual basic editing, advanced formulas, etc.)
Intermediate to advanced skill in predictive and statistical modeling using MS Office applications, SAS, SPSS, Arena, and other simulation packages.
Ability to extract, validate, manipulate, and derive insight from large amounts of data from diverse sources.
Ability to work creatively with a strong combination of conceptual and analytical capabilities.
Ability to clearly communicate analytical concepts and results to a non-technical audience both in writing and verbally.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced business and display professionalism and confidence under high pressure situations.
Ability to identify operational issues and performance gaps.
Knowledge in business process redesign/re-engineering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; with excellent public speaking skills.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
