Job Summary:
You will maintain reliable electrical service throughout the Disneyland Resort by providing system engineering and maintenance support for the Resort's 480V, 208V,12kV, and 5kV electrical distribution systems and central plant electrical systems. You will help plan the Resort's electrical utilities and the development of GIS applications for the electrical distribution systems. Work with partners in the development of electrical standards and processes and will be the "Owner's Representative" for compliance to applicable codes, standards and interface, as directed, with regulatory agencies. It reviews maintenance and testing reports and provides technical guidance to the Utility and Support Services and other maintenance teams. Provide direction and assistance for the restoration of electrical service following a forced power outage or the State of California mandated load reduction. You will also support the 600VDC rectifiers and distribution system for the Monorail. You will collaborate with WDI and Resort partners for special events and other Resort operational activities. You will report to the Manager of Utilities and Sustaining Engineering.
Responsibilities/You Will
Responsible for the performance/management of the low and medium voltage distribution systems through:
Coordinate system assessments and inspections to evaluate conditions, operations and maintenance requirements, planning, and engineering of electrical projects to comply with applicable standards and regulations.
Review the Utility developed "programs" for the isolation of portions of the electrical system needed for maintenance and construction activities.
Develop and maintain system drawings created by in-house and outside designers for accuracy, adequacy, quality, and, completeness.
Provide recommendations for system improvements, enhancements, and replacements, and ensure the electrical projects comply with applicable building codes, e.g. National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Title 24, California Building Code (CBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), insurance underwriter requirements, and Disneyland Resort Standards.
Collaborate with Resort partners and outside consultants/contractors maintaining the Resort's one-line diagrams, power system studies, power management system, and developing management solutions.
Provide engineering support for the Resort's central chiller, boiler, and compressed air plants.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
Professional Engineering License (PE) in the State of California.
10+ years of experience in the engineering design and repair of electrical systems.
Experience using computer-based electrical engineering and design tools including SKM Power Tools.
Proficiency in the use of email, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Knowledge of NEC, NESC, Title 24, OSHA and etc.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing complex issues to non-technical peers and to management.
Personal integrity and strong customer focus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with a campus environment distribution system including chiller plants, boiler plants, compressed air production, pumps, power management systems, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, meters, environmental sustainability, variable speed drive systems, and energy efficiency programs and projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Work with craft labor and contractors to facilitate system repairs and equipment maintenance.
Experience incorporating electrical distribution systems configuration and data into a Geographic Information System (ArcGIS).
Required Education
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power systems design and operation.
Preferred Education
MA/MS Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power systems design and operation.
The hiring range for this position in California is $112,012.00 to $150,260.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
