Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opportunity available for a Sr. Principal Chief Engineer located in Apopka, FL.

What You'll Get To Do:

The Sr. Principal Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical direction and execution of all aspects of engineering on a program including design, development, implementation, integration, testing, and delivery of product to the customer. The Chief Engineer is the technical leader for the program engineering team and serves as technical advisor to the program manager. The Chief Engineer is typically the primary technical point-of-contact to the customer. The Chief Engineer coordinates across the program’s Systems Engineering team and other engineering teams. The Chief Engineer ensures that all engineering teams adhere to sound engineering processes, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly-organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
• Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
• Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
• Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
• Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
• Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
• Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and a minimum of 9 Years related experience; 7 Years related experience with Masters
• Experience leading technical teams
• Experience in systems development, integration, and test of complex EO/IR or electronic systems
• Knowledge of earned value management
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in STEM discipline or technical management
• Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects

Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
