2023 Entry Level - Mass Properties Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting aircraft design, certification, and delivery efforts through weight and balance tracking, control, reporting, and presentation. This role will utilize a knowledge base of CATIA V5 and V6 models to evaluate mass properties of aircraft designs as well as working knowledge of mass properties database software and tools.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Application of engineering principles and concepts for analysis of aircraft mass properties.
II. Identify and quantify weight reduction opportunities to improve aircraft performance and payload.
III. Support design and material trade studies by estimating the weight and balance impacts.
IV. Development of analytical tools and methods to improve productivity and quality of data.
V. Complete design documentation and assistance in certification efforts as required.
VI. Assis with aircraft weighing and control surface balancing.
VII. Utilize CATIA V5 and V6 models to evaluate mass properties
VIII. Usage of proprietary software to obtain estimates for aircraft design concepts.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering or relative technical field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts
- Proficient in computer programming, preferably VBA.
- Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor
- Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
