The KU Achievement & Assessment Institute (AAI) is hiring for a Software Developer. The primary responsibilities of this position include designing and developing next generation learning solutions that are cross platform compatible. This position is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing enhancements to all enterprise class web applications used by K-12 schools nationwide to facilitate and enhance the student learning process. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and a focus on quality.

• Provide technical leadership/mentoring to junior developers as they work to complete their assignments.

• This position allows for a hybrid work location for well-qualified candidates.
• This position will require attendance at regularly scheduled meetings either onsite or through telecommunication platforms.

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of related experience OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years' experience with React.js, Javascript, HTML, CSS or Java, JDBC, J2EE technologies such as Servlets, JSP.

• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Experience using Git
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Restify
• Familiarity with SQLs, Functions, Stored Procedures for Relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, or MySQL, or Oracle or other database systems.
