As our Systems Engineer, in charge of power electronics, you’ll be generating and managing the cross functional requirements and architecture set that drive development of our power conversion hardware. You will own mechanical and electrical requirements related to inverter architecture, battery management, operating modes and safety of those components. You’ll also participate in the definition of the charging/EVSE integration and functionality as well as assembly harnessing and cabling. You will evaluate proposed design changes as they relate to requirements compliance and impact. You will work closely with our Integration and Test team to establish DVPs and reports. You will work with our Product team to translate Product and VOC requests into technical requirements for the engineering team to execute toward.

What you’ll do:

  • Create functional and non-functional requirements
  • Oversee the review and release of system, subsystem and component requirements through SRR, PDR and CDR activities
  • Define and document power electronics architecture to support product goals
  • Define interface requirements to external equipment where applicable
  • Evaluate designs as they relate to requirement compliance
  • Collaborate with Product teams to ensure coverage of all customer requirements and requests
  • Interface directly with external vendors and partners in development efforts
  • Collaborate with Integration and test team to document DVPs, ICDs and RCAs as well as participate in TRR for test plan releases
  • Lead applicable DFMEA and PFMEA activities to evaluate design robustness
  • Collaborate with regulatory engineers to ensure requirements and architecture meet applicable certification requirements

Skills to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical)Previous experience in requirements management
  • Working knowledge of power electronics design principles as well as requirements generation process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confident to interface and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, meeting, and multi tasking skills as well as exhibits strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated expertise in energy storage or EV industry

Pay Equity

Moxion is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. Compensation displayed is a range. Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
