Role Summary:

The IT Internal Audit Associate role is responsible for partnering with more experienced Internal Audit professionals to provide risk consulting and issues resolution to the business. They will work in the areas of IT General Controls, SOX IT, Information Technology Process Improvement, pre and post implementation reviews, and IT Security assessments. The IT Internal Audit Associate will participate in most stages of an internal audit or consulting project and aid with planning, field work, audit wrap up and report composition.


Responsibilities:

  • Acts as primary contact for business regarding basic questions and requests related to the audit
  • Conducts informational interviews, and facilitates meetings with business during engagement process
  • Obtains information, documents and data from business to support the completion of an audit and research of issues
  • Documents and analyzes client processes, risks and controls, with guidance and direction from senior IA professionals
  • Develops initial deliverables and/or solutions to client issues
  • Develops relationships with client personnel and management members
  • Assesses internal control design and operational effectiveness
  • Conducts audit testing of specified area, and identifies reportable issues and dimension of risk
  • Conduct research in preparation for audit programs as well as to support recommendations to the business – topics can include data governance, cybersecurity, company culture etc.
  • Communicates findings to the business, and drafts comprehensive report of audited area

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field, required
  • Two (2) or more years of experience within a public accounting firm or industry environment performing internal audit, IT audit, consulting or risk services
  • Experience with IT
  • Experience performing IT Security audits and third-party vendor risk assessments
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP and/or other relevant certifications, preferred
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel and within the Firm
  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels of IA as well as the business
  • Self-motivated professional who can complete tasks and communicate questions without constant oversight

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this role. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, whereby total compensation may exceed this range depending on individual and / or company performance.

Base Salary Range:

$85,000 - $100,000
