Summary:
Pluto TV is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer for development of new, as well as enhancement of existing, application services powering its Content Systems, which includes PlutoTV’s Media Asset Management System (MAM), Content Management System (CMS), and Content Feeds Services (CFEEDS). Candidate must have hands-on experience with Javascript, Node, Express, and similar JavaScript-based technologies and deep experience building solutions with AWS services, such as S3, Lambda, ECS and more. Practicing lead software engineers and senior software engineers are both encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:
Development of a new and improved Media Asset Management platform for content ingestion and quality control.
Act as a senior Individual Contributor to dependably deliver our sprint commitments on time and with high quality.
Conduct code reviews and ensure junior developers adhere to team’s standard methodologies and processes.
Develop technical requirements for new projects or improving existing projects with teams.
Ensure priority tasks such as production issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively and productively with other project colleagues from Product, Program Management, and QA.

Qualifications:
7+ years of software engineering experience
4+ years of experience building API's with Node.js
4+ years of Object Oriented Programming and Design experience
3+ years of experience in database design and development (SQL or NoSQL)
3+ years of experience building highly scalable, performant and responsive web applications
3+ years of experience developing applications deployed on AWS
3+ years of experience working in an Agile environment
BS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Additional Qualifications:
Technical leadership / people management experience
Exposure to golang
SAFe / Scrum experience
Excellent problem solving, and group collaboration skills
Experience in the VOD / Media Streaming space
Kafka
TDD / BDD

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $150,000.00 - 175,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
