JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years experience (military experience included) servicing 8kw - 70kw generators.
- The position requires strong communication skills, both oral and written, to communicate clearly and effectively with customers.
- Installs and maintains generators, circuit breakers, motors, lighting fixtures and transformers.
- Perform the servicing of generators, electrical transfer panel replacements and wiring in a residential application.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Job Function)
- Technician is capable of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair as well as performing planned generator maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, be a problem solver, and work with other electricians to complete tasks in a timely safe manner
- Create job repair plan based on diagnosis to include repair operations required and anticipated hours needed to complete repairs
- Respond promptly to after-hour call out service at the request of management
- Maintains Company stock and equipment
Knowledge:
- Works under direct supervision and selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
- Attend training programs and learns on the job to gain proficiencies on existing product lines
- Follow Safety and EPA regulations and maintain a safe clean work area
Performs various specific job duties as assigned by the Manager
Skills/Abilities:
- Possess the ability to make recommendations to other of all services offered by our company
- Representation of company values
- Ability to provide detailed written estimates for job proposals
Education/Experience:
Minimum four (4) years work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree from an accredited institution or combination of time in an accredited trade or vocational training program in basic electrical service.
Conditions of Employment
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license and meet company driving standards is a requirement for this job.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime if needed.
Demonstrates the general knowledge of tools and material related to the generator service and repair field
.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as hot and cold temperatures, chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
