Job Description

This position will be responsible for managing medium to large, complex, technical, business support, production operation team(s), adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resources and operational challenges. This position will make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans, receiving guidance from CIO and Deputy CIO.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage, direct, and provide oversight to the SWAT team.
  • Ensure staff follow established policies, procedures, and desk level processes.
  • Plan and schedule all work activities.
  • Provide status updates to management.
  • Create, review, and approve employee ratings and evaluations.
  • Define immediate and long-term goals for the SWAT team.
  • Prioritize work and provide solutions for work requests.
  • Provide training opportunities for staff.
  • Leads the hiring process for the SWAT team.
  • Ensure staff are accountable and productive in their daily tasks.
  • Participates in the establishment and of guidelines and policies.

  • Deep understanding of all facets of management and leadership, as well as, a vision for the specific business program/function being managed.
  • Thorough working knowledge of most infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise.

  • Thorough working knowledge of organization’s policies and procedures.

Selective Preference(s):

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 or more years of related experience plus 3 or more years of management experience (or equivalent experience).

Preferred:

  • Eight (8) or more years’ experience working in health care, preferably Arizona Medicaid Enterprise System
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.
  • Successfully pass fingerprint background check, prior employment verifications and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) AND have an acceptable driving record for the last 39 months including no DUI, suspension, or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. If an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months, a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required prior to driving for State Business. Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
