North Dakota State University (NDSU) Dining is seeking candidates who are passionate about using Information Technology to solve problems and create efficient solutions. This position will assist in the administration of software applications for Dining and for other Finance & Administration (F&A) departments. This position will also be responsible for training and documentation on how to best use these applications. The IT Application Administrator will serve as an integral member of the Dining IT Team and work closely with the Dining Technical Services Manager and F&A Senior Technical Services Manager to assess, plan, coordinate, and implement upgrades and new technology solutions. The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of the Dining IT team to support and manage workstations, signage players, point of sale devices and other technology within Dining
  • Assist the F&A Senior Technical Services Manager with the maintenance and functionality of existing campus-wide databases and software solutions
  • Troubleshoot issues when they arise, as needed coordinating with appropriate parties or vendors to resolve issues
  • Assist in analysis and proposal of alternative business processes and advise and assist in implementation of new ones
  • Develop and maintain documentation to help the departmental teams and end users best use software solutions
  • Conduct training sessions for end users, and mentor departmental teams on effective and efficient use of existing software

Work Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm, other hours as necessary to meet business demands

Advertised Salary: $54,000/year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 2-year associate’s degree/certificate with experience
    • Students graduating with an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in May 2023 are eligible to apply
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to software applications or data
  • Understanding of software systems and operating systems deployment
  • Understanding of IT security including data protection
  • Self-motivated and able to work on task list independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Understanding of food service industry and specialized knowledge of skills requirements for food service positions
  • Knowledge in administration of Windows operating systems
  • Understanding of databases, their structure and query
  • Ability to work and lead team efforts to achieve desired outcome
