CLOSING DATE: This position will close at midnight CDT on February 21, 2023.

Perform mechanical installation and subsequent repair and maintenance of pipelines for natural gas utility. Under minimal supervision provides site direction on project work and coordinates all worksite responsibilities, ensuring the accurate materials are available and in use.

SALARY RANGE: $30.05 - $44.95 per hour (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Supervisor, Operations

LOCATION: Fayetteville, Arkansas

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead crew in the installation, maintenance and repair of gas mains and services in compliance with regulatory and company policies.
  • Connect with Supervisors and Field Coordinators to effectively direct job site work and train and develop crew members.
  • Complete all applicable and required documentation and record keeping.
  • Account for all job materials and maintains equipment assigned to crew.
  • Reviews project plans and work orders prior to beginning job site work.
  • Administer safety practices in the field.
  • Control lost time to increase production and ensure efficient use of work day.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly use spreadsheets, database and word processing software, and periodically learn new programs.
  • Responsible for inventory and compliance reporting.
  • May be required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager and be available to respond during working hours; may be required to respond during non-working hours, especially related to company emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in natural gas pipeline maintenance and installation required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as a backhoe, trenchers, and other digging and pipeline construction equipment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with co-workers, customers and others and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
