Position Summary:
The Interface Analyst is primarily responsible for providing technical support and maintenance of clinical system interfaces that span multiple applications and/or multiple departments/divisions within the Jackson Health System under general direction. The incumbent will follow established policies and procedures for monitoring interfaces, reporting issues as they arise and performing first-level support. The Interface Analyst will be expected to resolve basic issues on their own and will work closely with vendors and/or senior members of the team to troubleshoot the more complex issues. The incumbent will help document and test interfaces.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Plays a leading role in monitoring and supporting all system interfaces. Ensures reliability of cross-enterprise applications. Plays a leading role in identifying, documenting and resolving interface related issues. Seeks guidance and advice from senior members of the team. Follows up with colleagues, vendors and end users to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Escalates to management when appropriate. Jointly responsible for building, testing and documenting new interfaces and modifications to existing interfaces. Identifies risk and communicates them to senior members of the team. Works with management to insure that all JHS standards and requirements are being adhered to. Follows and enforces all operational policies and procedures. Builds proficiency with industry standards like HL7 and X.12. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs other related duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.




Qualifications


Experience:
Experience with Cerner, InterSystems and/or electronic health records preferred. A few years of HL7 integration or programming design and support preferred. Must be able to participate in our on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support for our interfaces.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, MIS, Engineering or equivalent work experience required.

License Certification:
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Strong technical skills are required. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.

Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment. Work Environment:
Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as: communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
