Front End Developer
Job Description
** Please note this role will be based in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC**
The Role
We are looking for an individual who wants to work in a rapidly growing company with a passion for development using Wordpress and other modern JavaScript frameworks. You will be part of a new fast iterative development team that will create solutions that have a direct impact on the company's financials. You will work closely with experts in Paid Media marketing and SEO marketing across a portfolio of over 40+ sites to drive better customer experiences in the home services industry.
Your Day to Day
- Work with teams to solve major issues affecting conversion rate and provide creative solutions to drive improvements.
- Execute on initiatives defined by your squad with collaboration across marketing channel stakeholders.
- Create new consumer lead generation websites using HTML / CSS / Javascript / PHP in a WordPress environment
- Facilitate end to end development lifecycle using Git workflows
- Work closely with our data engineering team and marketing technology teams to track winning AB testing changes
- Implement AB testing changes on high traffic websites that enable better consumer experiences
- Manage a pipeline of incoming development changes requests across SEO and Paid Marketing channels.
About You
- 3+ years of professional front-end development with a focus on developing on sites on WordPress
- 3+ years experience in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Wordpress (ACF, WPForms, custom post types and taxonomies)
- Experience managing Wordpress hosting environments like Pantheon, Pagely, or WP Engine
- Experience delivering fully-responsive and progressive mobile websites.
- Experience setting up WP Multisite parent and child theme designs
- Experience using GitHub and Git for source control changes
- Experience using one or more advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as React, Vue or Angular (React Preferred)
- PreferExperience with package managers like yarn or npm
- Prefer experience building configurations for grunt or webpack
- Prefer experience with MySQL and Nginx
- 3+ more years of experience as a front-end developer working in a professional environment
- 3 years front-end development with a focus in WordPress
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred

- Multi-tasking. Ability to manage multiple work-streams and simultaneous projects in support of a growing portfolio of sites.
- Flexible/adaptable. As a growth stage company, we pivot quickly and use our speed to take advantage of opportunities in a competitive market. You need to be nimble, and help us figure out how to get high quality solutions designed and built.
- Teamwork. You need to be able to work well with a small high-functioning hybrid (local, remote and offshore) team of SEO Experts, UXDs, Scrum Masters, QA, Dev Ops, and Front and Back-End Web developers.
- Attention-to-Detail. While we’re looking for candidates who “get the big picture”, success in this role will depend most on your ability to dig into the details and create high quality technical solutions that align with business goals.
- Follow through on commitments. As a member of the Digital team, you’ll work within our 2-week sprint cycle where we’ll count on you to size your work using story points, report on your progress in daily standups, report roadblocks and complete work on time.
