Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interacts closely with leadership team, end users, providers, peers, and vendors to design, develop, implement, and maintain stable, functional, and progressive software applications that improve patient experience and access to healthcare, produce efficiencies, and increase revenue
  • Interprets and analyzes data, design, and workflow to provide feedback that is critical to the decision-making process around clinical quality, revenue, expenses, capacity, and utilization
  • Conducts and oversees system testing and validation by developing and maintaining comprehensive testing protocols and scripts that ensure thorough testing of an application; participates in system integration testing and validation; and maintains current and sufficient documentation of completed testing, including issues and resolutions
  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation of application changes and updates
  • Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implemented
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Cerner software
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners
  • Attend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facility

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree obtained e.g. Associate, Bachelor, Master OR 1+ years professional healthcare experience in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with Cerner patient access solutions and/or Cerner patient portal
  • Available to work EST time zone core hours Monday thru Friday / 9-5pm
  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually, USA domestic locations. Travel may be lower depending on project requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of healthcare clinical and revenue cycle operations, including a basic understanding of end-user workflow
  • Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills

  • Must possess the ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop and recommend alternative solutions
  • Must work well in group problem-solving situations and use reason when dealing with emotional topics
  • Must take ownership of data and product quality ensuring consistency and standardization when feasible
  • Must have the ability to solve or escalate immediate problems to overcome obstacles on assigned projects and tasks
  • Must be able to analyze implications of design concepts and decisions
  • Must be able to clearly communicate project status and risks to stakeholders as necessary and speak persuasively in a variety of situations

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $56,300 to $110,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
