Document Imaging Technician

Job Summary: Document Imaging Technicians visit assigned medical providers and image specific data from charts. Technicians will use proprietary software, laptop and scan stations to capture images. Imaging includes various forms such as printing, scanning or creating electronic files from provider systems. Communication with home office and medical providers is essential. Laptop and portable scan stations will be provided.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs specialized technical skills associated with medical copying/imaging record procedures
- Analyzes records for required documents
- Accurately copies/images medical records within the given timeframe
- Utilizes provided equipment in order to accomplish assignment
- Adheres to established HIPAA guidelines in handling all patient information and all company internal controls
- Provides customer service to assigned medical providers, including answering questions, explaining company objectives and providing options as needed
- Verbal and written communication to home office and medical provider locations as needed
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Previous experience working with Medical Records. 1 year or more preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred. 1 year or more preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge, including experience with MS Word, MS Excel, downloading and attaching files to email
- Use of personal vehicle. Proof of minimum state insurance required.
- Active driver license is required. You will be required to provide proof of driver license.
- Requires personal residential access to high speed internet to receive job assignments via email and offloading or transferring of documents/files
- Requires use of residential broadband connection with minimum upload speeds of 384kbs and download speed of 1mbs. Acceptable connections: T1, DSL, Cable, Satellite, Fiber. Unacceptable internet connections include Dial-up, Wi-Fi, in addition to other publicly available internet connections. Verification of connection may be requested.
