Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Reservoir Engineer within our U.S. Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, Rockies Reservoir Characterization group based in Denver, Colorado.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the reservoir engineers on the DJ or PRB development team to create subsurface integrated development recommendations.
  • Optimize well spacing, stacking, completion design and drawdown with a multi-disciplinary team and other stakeholders including drilling, completions, and production operations.
  • Integrate reservoir modelling with various other data including geomodelling, geochemistry, PVT, petrophysics, geophysics, production performance, fiber optics, pressure monitoring.
  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make strong technical and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.
  • Recommend, manage and execute data collection programs.
  • Develop new technologies and workflows that enhance well production and field development.
  • Participate in wedge well surveillance, technical lookbacks and support post-appraisals. Periodically provide updates of actual well performance as compared to expectations and the main causes for any deviations.
  • Prepare technical presentations and documents for delivery to asset team, management, partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Support field development planning, and the business and reserves cycles as needed.
  • As needed, develop or expand programming skills, data analytics, and machine learning skillsets.
  • This role has the potential to expand support to Rockies Net Zero projects including: CCS and CCUS.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years relevant engineering experience required.
  • Expertise in reservoir simulation modelling (tNavigator), production methods, frac modelling (Gohfer), and frac design.
  • Familiarity with petroleum economics.
  • Experience with DCA, PNR and RTA on unconventional assets and apply best practices.
  • Expertise in reservoir fluid behaviour and properties and measurement methods including PVT, DFIT etc.
  • Knowledge of carbon sequestration and/or enhanced oil recovery is valued.
  • Working knowledge of Enersight, Aries, Moasic and/or PEEP.
  • Exhibit the qualities of a good team player such as conveying a positive attitude, contributing ideas, open minded, and able to work under pressure to find new ways of working efficiently to extract the maximum value from our assets.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with field operations, technical peers and management.

Education

Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
