About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role:

The Applications Developer will be responsible for full development life cycle activities (e.g., analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) for business critical UPS.com applications. Candidate will be involved in agile software development, testing, deployment and maintenance activities for moderately complex projects utilizing C#, .Net, Angular and OpenShift technologies. Candidate must be familiar with Object Oriented Programming concepts and should have prior web application development work experience. Strong knowledge of Web Services development and HTTP protocol is a plus.

Applications Developer must possess strong communication skills both written and verbal. Good interpersonal skills and must work well within a team environment. Must be a highly motivated individual that strives to stay current in technology and adhere to standards.

  • Experienced in Web Development using Angular 2 or above, C# and .NET
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis & Design
  • Familiar with Agile ceremonies of Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Up, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience
