Job Description

The Development Process and Tools (DPT) team within Caterpillar's Integrated Components and Solutions Division is seeking a software engineer. The DPT team develops internally and externally facing software applications for use in designing, developing, and configuring Caterpillar products. This position will contribute to the design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and issue resolution of web and desktop applications for internal and external users.

Job Duties:

  • Designing, developing, and testing application features.

  • Creating and maintaining design documentation.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving software issues.

  • Providing user guidance and training.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an accredited Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems curriculum.

At least 1 year of software development experience.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Proven experience developing web and desktop applications.

  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript programming.

  • Experience developing cloud-based software application solutions.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Additional information:

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

This position will require less than 10 % travel.
