Job Description
This position is for an A/AI Machine Learning Engineer on the Realm team. The Ream team is a Research and Development team that invents AI/ML solutions for some of our customers’ most complex and challenging problems. Our team has created a suite of AI/ML decision aids primarily focused on defense against advanced missile threats. We use a broad range of AI/ML algorithms (e.g. particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithms, deep learning, reinforcement learning) for automated, optimized planning, prediction and battle management. This position will focus on our AI automated missile defense planning service. The candidate will also help in transitioning these novel AI solutions to fielded, operational systems. This position requires working within an Agile Scrum environment, including supporting sprint meetings (stand-up, review, retrospective, and planning), planning poker and backlog grooming.
Some domestic or international travel may be required.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following skills:
- Programming experience with Java, Python, or C++ (Java preferred)
- Use of common software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle and Eclipse
- Understands and can apply Object-Oriented design
Additional skills in the following areas are desired:
- AI/ML experience
- Client and server-side development experience
- CI/CD experience
- Missile defense domain experience
- Microservices experience
- Experience with the Angular framework
- JavaScript and Node experience
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts)
- Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation
