Job Description


As a part of the division’s Monitoring team, our Web Developer will play a key role in achieving TCEQ’s mission. You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Perform services relating to web/application development and maintenance for the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) and Monitoring Division (MD).
  • Perform web design and development work with the Lead Internet Developer. Ensure material posted on agency websites conforms to agency standards.
  • Assist subject matter experts for web and IT projects. Track and analyze (division) web page usage. Assist in answering questions about the agency’s web Content Management System (CMS) and help train new CMS Web Developers. Provide backup for the Lead Internet Developer (LID) and other web developers in the Office and Division.
  • Participate with the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Office and Division SharePoint assets; creation of sites, lists, and libraries; creation of simple customizations and workflows utilizing approved web technologies.
  • Participate with developing and presenting data in an intuitive easy to understand format
  • Analyze and evaluate existing information technology and systems processes, and assist in the development of new procedures, standards, tools, and techniques. Complete and/or participate in special projects.

Qualifications
  • Webmaster Certification, plus one year of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.


OR


  • Three years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.


OR


  • A bachelor's degree with 12 semester hours in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from an accredited college or university, plus two years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.


OR


  • Completion of 30 semester hours (600 clock hours) in computer science, web design, web development, or web programming/coding from a licensed vocational, technical, business, or accredited college, plus two years of full-time experience in web design, web development, or web programming/coding.

This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in office.
