We are a team of thirteen Logistics Specialists, Engineers and Project Managers focused on creating, optimizing the full flow of parts through the end-to-end supply chain. We support the processes of transporting material throughout the facility, as well as, to Production areas on time, in an efficient manner and with a Continuous Improvement mindset. We collectively focus on the Industry 4.0 journey in front of us through automation and digitalization. We are committed to making Volvo more competitive through unique and creative solutions. Job Description:
This position will have a focus on facilitation of Volvo Group packaging for the powertrain product in accordance with safety, quality, and sustainability to design the most efficient material flow and workplace organization. Occasionally, this position will involve designing of packaging in alignment with Industrial and Product projects’ needs at the Hagerstown Powertrain Facility. Activities and responsibilities will include reviewing part requirements, utilizing packaging tools to create packaging instructions, and updating packaging system accordingly with contact to the supplier. The position requires a professional with the ability to analyze and interpret requirements while working with cross functional teams such as, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to implement new processes and manage change.

Required knowledge/experience
  • A BSc in Packaging Science or Mechanical Engineering
  • Or 7+ years of relative experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment in automotive industry.
  • AutoCAD, Creo experience is preferred
  • Valid work permit for the applied country if not a citizen.
  • Ability and flexible to travel both domestically and internationally.
