Key Responsibilities:
United Airlines Network Planning Team (Scheduling) is at the core of all things United. This team handles all the scheduling for United’s network of more than 5000 departures every day. Our IT Network Planning Team build state of the art tools that enable the Schedulers and Planners to develop a schedule that maximizes revenue and operational reliability. The Sr Application developer plays a critical role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. You will partner with Principal Architect and the development teams to plan, develop and launch core functionality. This position will play the role of in research and implementation of new methodologies and technologies on the Network Planning Team.
Qualifications
Required
- +5 years of IT and business/industry work experience
- +4 years of experience building large-scale distributed applications with Python/Julia and SQL in AWS or other cloud environments
- Experience with large complex, data intensive distributed applications
- Knowledge and skills of using Linux environment
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Airline Experience with design development of ML/AI models is a plus
- MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Experience with scientific computing with Julia a plus
