As a Threat Researcher with Best Buy, you will play a key role in arming our security teams with actionable threat related information and intelligence to help our world class security teams and security apparatus defend the enterprise and our customers from advanced threats.

This role is remote eligible, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.

What you’ll do

• Research attacks, vectors, attack groups, new vulnerabilities, exploits, and campaign trends.
• Conduct research for tracking certain malware families, campaigns, or actors through technical analysis.
• Determine changes in the threat landscape and provide recommendations to reduce risk before threat exposure occurs.
• Provide context and prioritization information to support the Threat Hunt, Incident Response, and other partner teams.
• Make predictions about future trends to help improve detection and tactical response.
• Provide proactive identification of supply chain attacks and support investigations.

• Provide concise, actionable, and timely reporting on relevant threats to support various ERC teams including Threat Hunt, Incident Response, Attack Surface Management and others.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of general experience in threat intelligence, digital forensics, incident response or malware reverse engineering.
• 2+ years of experience directly supporting cyber security detection and response teams with technical research and reporting.
• 2+ years of experience utilizing behavioral analysis and reverse engineering outputs from researcher other teams or automated sandbox testing.
